It’s been a long while my friends!!
I’ve had a lot of things come up, a few health issues, not to mention my site was partially down for a while..but all is good!
Oh and before I launch into my ramblings.. i’ve updated my site to include a bio and my teaching schedule.. please check it out !
So a friend and I were discussing and later emailing about the recent media insurgence/resurgence around UFOs and Aliens. For example, how the British Government released the classified dated UFO files and made them public (although I don’t think much was revealed except for the fact that a small percent of sightings/cases were ‘unexplainable’ ), all the new movies that touch upon little green beings like Indiana Jones and the new X files movies and finally this little blurb that received minimal media attention (rightfully so, as I hardly take it to be a formal declaration by the vatican church on their position on ETs)
‘How can we rule out that life may have developed elsewhere?’ the Rev. Jose Gabriel Funes, head of the Vatican Observatory, tells L’Osservatore Romano. ‘Just as we consider earthly creatures as ‘a brother,’ and ’sister,’ why should we not talk about an ‘extraterrestrial brother’? It would still be part of creation.’ Funes tells the Vatican newspaper that the thought of little green men on Mars ‘doesn’t contradict our faith.’
Anyways, I think my friend was a little disappointed by my lack of enthusiasm around the most recent alien and conspiracy theories. I’ve taken some excerpts from my communication to him to sum up my position..
‘ I guess it just seems that this topic is one that I’ve always been drawn to and it feels that as i’ve probed deeper into the questions the less important certain elements have become i.e. proving existence of aliens or superhuman powers or the need for ‘reason’ and ’science’ to explain all things for certain. Man, if they ever find that god particle, watch out! There goes the belief system of almost 3/4 of the earths populations if not more! lol! Really when it comes down to it, nothing can compare to the mystery, awe and wonder of the very experience of ‘beingness’ and ‘life’ itself no? It’s all right here in the NOW I guess as Tolle would say.
I have no reason to doubt aliens existence, in fact I think it’s just common sense (otherwise for me its just a classic case of ego and anthropomorphism running rampant)….but even if aliens are the ones that spawned life on this planet.. the same questions arise.. Well who created the aliens? what is their purpose? Why am I here? What is the I? Why do I suffer? What is consciousness? Where does it reside? Is there anything behind it?
I think that people that have probed these questions with a compassionate heart usually come to some similar deeper questions.. which is why I think the study of consciousness wth a capital ‘C’ is in fact a study of aliens, psychology, the paranormal etc.. So I don’t really care about what someone from the Vatican has to say on this issue since they are probably still viewing things through some ‘traditional’ meets ‘modern’ form of consciousness.. probably not fully even at postmodern yet! Sorry if this sounds arrogant but again I think you know what I mean. But this could definitely be an interesting time in history in terms of a radical shift in the way some people look at the world and beyond, just think of all the crazy things that have happened in the past 500 years!! Long story short, proof of extraterrestrial beings? sure, bring em on! Maybe they can communicate deeper truths in some sort of non linear, transrational way so I can awaken as the fully interdimensional being I already am?!
I think the Buddhists have been on the right track from the beginning..
May all SENTIENT beings EVERYWHERE be free from suffering
..makes you wonder whether good ole Gautama was in sync with tons of other interdimensional beings doesn’t it??
Kinda like the Sumerians ;) Plus I guess the Scientologists have all this alien stuff figured out anyways.. you should just ask a high ranking scientologist ‘what’s up?’
I really should be meditating more.
